INDIANAPOLIS, IN, April 13, 2021 — Criswell Davis, an internationally recognized American hardwood expert, has been asked to give a presentation on “Promotion of American Hardwoods in the US” at the Indiana Hardwood Lumber Association (IHLA) Convention. The convention is being held at the Marriott Downtown from April 19th through the 21st, 2021.
Criswell Davis is the founding director of the Timber & Forestry Foundation, which promotes the sustainable U.S. timber industry to the design community and consumers across the United States. Criswell has been in the lumber business for more than 32 years and has presented to more than 7,000 architects and designers worldwide over 12 years. The foundation represents American-based companies and trade organizations associated with the timber and related industries, including lumber, veneer, plywood, flooring, cabinetry, moulding and furniture.
Mr. Davis was recently featured as a TEDx speaker, where he used data to show how the use of American hardwoods in building and biophilic design is beneficial for the environment and humans. Biophilic design is about our yearning, on a cellular level, to connect with nature in our interior spaces, where we spend nearly 90% of our time. The TEDx talk tells the story of America’s successful and responsible stewardship of our sustainable forest resource. The YouTube video of the talk, titled “American Hardwood Improves our Lives” has made an impact in the hardwood and lumber industry and has been viewed nearly 5,000 times on YouTube.
